Varun Dhawan may be busy with work, but his heart remains with his family. The actor recently shared a touching post on Instagram, offering fans a rare glimpse into his personal life as a father and pet parent.
Missing Home, Sharing Love
On Saturday, Varun posted a few emotional pictures on Instagram. He admitted feeling homesick and nostalgic. The photos featured sweet moments with his daughter, Lara, and his beloved dog, Joey. Although his post focused on Joey, the picture that included Lara stole all the attention. Fans loved seeing a soft, family-side of the actor.

Photos That Melted Hearts
Varun captioned his post, “My raja babu #joey #missmybabies.” One picture showed him playing with Joey. Another showed him holding the dog in his arms while walking in the rain.
However, the highlight was a candid home photo. In that image, Varun lay shirtless on the carpet, wearing black-and-white shorts. He gently held Joey’s face in his hands. Right in front of him, baby Lara sat on colourful play mats. She wore a cute pink outfit, with her face covered by a heart emoji to maintain her privacy.
Fans flooded the comment section with praise and admiration. Many dropped heart emojis and warm compliments. One fan commented, “Cuties,” while another said, “Sooooo cute.”
Other comments included:
-
“You, Joey and Lara.”
-
“Lara getting jealous.”
-
“Lara and Joey with their daddy no 1.”
Family Life and Fatherhood
Varun tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Natasha Dalal, in 2021. Their daughter, Lara, was born in June 2024. He officially revealed her name in October during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati while speaking with Amitabh Bachchan.
He said, “Being a father, especially to a daughter, is a transformative experience. It changes your perspective. When I became a father, I recalled my mother's teachings and realised how I could ever be rude to her after seeing how my wife, Natasha Dalal, cares for our daughter. It's been a crazy and wonderful journey.”
On the Work Front
In 2024, Varun made cameo appearances in Stree 2 and Munjya, reprising his werewolf role from Bhediya. He also played the lead in Baby John, the Hindi remake of Atlee’s Tamil film Theri, which starred Vijay. However, the film didn’t perform well at the box office.
Looking ahead, Varun will appear in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, both set to release this year. He will also star in Border 2, scheduled for release in 2026.
