Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers pulled off an incredible comeback on Monday. By scoring two late goals, they defeated the Delhi SG Pipers 2-1 in the
Men’s Hero Hockey India League 2024-25. Consequently, the Tigers secured a spot in the semifinals, accumulating 18 points from nine matches.
SG Pipers Take Early Advantage
At first, both teams played cautiously during the opening quarter. While the SG Pipers focused their attacks on the left flank through Dilraj Singh, the Tigers created the first real chance. Sebastien Dockier and Abhishek combined skillfully to breach the opposition’s defense. However, Benjamin Rennie, the SG Pipers’ goalkeeper, made a crucial save.
In the 27th minute, the SG Pipers finally broke the deadlock. Tomas Domene and Lucas Toscani executed a quick one-two pass. As a result, Domene smashed the ball into the roof of the net, giving the Pipers a 1-0 lead.
Tigers Fight Back Relentlessly
The Tigers appeared to equalize in the 31st minute when Sukhjeet Singh scored, but unfortunately, the goal was disallowed. Despite this setback, the Tigers didn’t give up and increased the intensity in the final quarter.
In the 55th minute, captain Rupinder Pal Singh brought his team back into the game. After a clever penalty corner variation, Jugraj Singh set him up perfectly. Without hesitation, Rupinder struck the ball into the net, tying the game at 1-1.
Dockier Secures Victory
The decisive moment came in the 59th minute. Gursewak Singh made a stunning solo run down the right wing, showcasing excellent skill. He then delivered a precise cross in front of the goal. Sebastien Dockier, positioned perfectly, tapped the ball into the net. This late goal sealed the victory for the Tigers.

With their relentless effort and teamwork, the Bengal Tigers turned the match around. Thanks to their captain Rupinder Pal Singh and Sebastien Dockier, the Tigers now march confidently into the semifinals. Their determination and late-game heroics showcased why they are a team to watch.
