Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized Arvind Kejriwal for accusing Haryana of sending “poisoned” water to Delhi. Speaking at a rally in Delhi’s Kartar Nagar, Modi called the claim baseless and insulting.
"A former Delhi CM has made disgusting allegations against Haryana’s people. Are Haryana and Delhi separate? Don’t people in Haryana have relatives in Delhi? Can they poison the same water they drink?" he asked. He stressed that the water Haryana supplies is consumed by all Delhi residents, including himself.
‘AAPda Will Drown in Yamuna’
Modi accused Kejriwal’s party of spreading lies out of fear of losing the election. "People of ‘AAPda’ claim Haryana mixes poison in Delhi’s water. This is not just an insult to Haryana but to all Indians. In our country, providing drinking water is a noble act," he said.
Mocking AAP’s claims, Modi added, "Their fear of defeat has made them desperate. I am sure Delhi will teach them a lesson. ‘AAPda will drown in Yamuna.’"
Kejriwal’s Serious Accusation
Kejriwal had earlier alleged on X that BJP-linked people in Haryana were contaminating Delhi’s water supply. He wrote, "If people in Delhi drink this water, many will die. Can anything be more disgusting than this? The poison cannot even be removed in treatment plants. To protect Delhi’s people, we had to stop water supply in some areas."
He went on to accuse the BJP of attempting “mass murder” but promised that AAP would prevent it.
Election Commission Steps In
The Election Commission took note of Kejriwal’s claims and asked him to provide proof by 8 PM.
