Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava crosses ₹100 crore worldwide in just two days, becoming one of 2025's first big hits.

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has become a major hit in 2025. The historical action film crossed ₹100 crore worldwide in just two days. On Saturday, the film saw a slight increase in its collections, ultimately reaching ₹100 crore globally.

Box Office Success

Initially, Chhaava earned ₹68 crore net (₹81.60 crore gross) in India within the first two days. Additionally, it made over $2 million (₹18-19 crore) in the international market. As a result, the total global earnings stand at ₹100 crore.

Notably, Chhaava is now the second Hindi film of 2025 to hit the ₹100 crore mark, after Sky Force starring Akshay Kumar. With the film's impressive performance, it is expected to surpass Sky Force's total collections in the coming days.

Regional Appeal

Moreover, Chhaava has been particularly successful in Maharashtra. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film portrays the life of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, focusing on his battles with Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The film highlights his bravery and resilience, making it a favorite in Maharashtra, where Sambhaji is regarded as a hero.

In many centres across the state, Chhaava has registered over 70% occupancy. In Pune, night shows have reached 97% occupancy. As a result, several theatres in Mumbai and Pune have added midnight screenings. Additionally, smaller theatres have even begun offering 6 am and 1 am shows to meet the growing demand.

About the Film

Chhaava stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna and Divya Dutta in supporting roles. While critics have offered mixed reviews, with praise for the performances but some criticism of the pacing, the audience has overwhelmingly embraced the film.
