Germany dominated India with a 4-0 victory, adjusting well to tough weather conditions.

Germany capitalized on their chances and defeated India 4-0 in Women's FIH Pro League. Although heavy rain made the pitch difficult to play on, Germany adjusted well and dominated the game.

Strong Start Gives Germany the Lead

Right from the beginning, Germany took control. In the 3rd minute, Amelie Wortmann scored after a goalmouth scramble. Then, in the 18th minute, Sophia Schwabe extended the lead with a well-taken field goal. Meanwhile, India created some promising counterattacks, but they could not find the net before halftime.

India Fights Back but Struggles to Score

After the break, India showed resilience. They defended well throughout the third quarter, preventing Germany from adding to their lead. However, despite their strong efforts, they still failed to convert their chances into goals.

Germany Seals the Win in the Final Quarter

As the final period began, India remained hopeful. However, in the 47th minute, Schwabe struck again with a powerful reverse shot, crushing India’s chances of a comeback. Then, in the dying moments, Johanna Hachenberg secured Germany’s win with a goal from a penalty corner rebound.

Schwabe Earns Player of the Match Award

Sophia Schwabe was named player of the match. Expressing her excitement, she said, “I’m so proud of my team that we made a big step forward, and we’re looking forward and so excited to play the next game against India.”
