Conor McGregor Slams Illegal Immigration in Ireland During White House Visit
Conor McGregor criticizes illegal immigration in Ireland during his White House visit, sparking controversy and debate.

Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor has strongly criticized illegal immigration in Ireland. During his visit to the White House in Washington, D.C., he called it an “illegal immigration racket” that, in his opinion, is harming the country.

McGregor Warns of Ireland Losing Its Identity

McGregor traveled to the United States to meet US President Donald Trump on St. Patrick’s Day. While speaking to reporters, he stated that he wanted to discuss Ireland’s immigration challenges with Trump.

“I’m here to raise the issues the people of Ireland face,” McGregor said. Moreover, he described the situation as “a travesty.”

He warned that Ireland was changing rapidly due to illegal immigration.

“The illegal immigration racket is ravaging our country,” he declared. “There are rural towns in Ireland that have been overrun in one swoop, that have become a minority in one swoop.”

A Message for Irish Americans

In addition, McGregor directed his message to Irish Americans, urging them to take notice.

“The 40 million Irish Americans need to hear this,” he emphasized. “Because if not, there will be no place to come home and visit.”

Furthermore, he highlighted the strong bond between Ireland and America.

“Ireland and America, we are siblings,” McGregor stated. “We wish to be taken care of by the big bro. The United States should look after its little bro. That’s how we feel.”

McGregor Meets Trump and Praises His Leadership

McGregor arrived at the White House in a three-piece suit. Alongside him, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wore green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

During the meeting, McGregor openly praised Trump’s leadership.

“Your work ethic is truly inspiring,” he said.

In response, Trump returned the compliment.

“Yours is impressive as well, you’re amazing!” Trump replied.

McGregor’s Surprise Speech at the White House

Later, McGregor unexpectedly spoke at the White House podium. When reporters asked about illegal Irish immigrants in the U.S., Karoline Leavitt jokingly said he was ‘taking over the podium.’

Irish Government Rejects McGregor’s Remarks

However, not everyone agreed with McGregor. Irish political leaders quickly pushed back against his statements.

Shortly after, Ireland’s Taoiseach dismissed his remarks.

“Conor McGregor’s remarks are wrong and do not reflect the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day or the views of the people of Ireland.”

He further emphasized that St. Patrick’s Day represents community, friendship, and humanity, values that contradict McGregor’s anti-immigration stance.

McGregor’s Comments Spark Debate

Ultimately, while McGregor voiced concerns about Ireland’s future, the Irish government distanced itself from his views. Political leaders insisted that he does not represent the people of Ireland. Nevertheless, his statements have fueled a heated debate on immigration and national identity.
