Alia Bhatt praised Adolescence for its powerful storytelling, stunning cinematography, and outstanding performances.

Alia Bhatt recently praised Netflix’s crime-drama series Adolescence. She called it "perfection" and admired its writing, direction, and cinematography. Moreover, she wondered how the cast and crew felt after completing long, continuous takes.

Additionally, she praised the performances. "Alive, real, raw, and so moving," she wrote. Furthermore, she highlighted the teamwork behind the series. "Every department gave their heart and soul," she added. "I’m in awe."

A Unique Crime-Drama Series

Philip Barantini directed Adolescence, while Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham wrote it. Notably, the series uses a single-take technique, creating an intense and immersive experience.

The show features a talented cast. Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty, Faye Marsay, Christine Tremarco, and Mark Stanley delivered strong performances. However, 15-year-old Owen Cooper truly stood out as Jamie Miller.

Owen Cooper’s Impressive Debut

Adolescence marks Owen Cooper’s first acting role. Despite being only 14 during filming, he delivered a powerful performance.

To support him, the creators hired an acting coach. As a result, he mastered his role with remarkable skill. Director Philip Barantini praised him, saying, "Actors train for years and still struggle to master what Owen has mastered—being in the moment, listening, and staying truthful."
