Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 80 runs in the 15th match of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens. Venkatesh Iyer, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Rinku Singh led KKR’s batting attack. Later, Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana destroyed SRH’s top order. Finally, Varun Chakaravarthy and Andre Russell wrapped up the innings to secure a dominant win.
Early Blows for KKR
SRH won the toss and chose to bowl first. Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine opened for KKR, while Mohammad Shami took the new ball. Shami started with a wide and leaked four leg byes on the first ball. Pat Cummins bowled the second over, and Narine smashed him for a six. However, Cummins dismissed de Kock on the fifth ball. Ajinkya Rahane walked in at No. 3 as KKR reached 14/1 after two overs.
Shami struck again in the third over, sending Narine back for just seven runs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi stepped in at No. 4. With only three runs from the over, KKR struggled at 17/2.
Rahane and Raghuvanshi Stabilize the Innings

Cummins returned in the tenth over, hoping for a breakthrough. Rahane smashed a six, taking KKR to 84/2. Ansari got revenge in the 11th over. After conceding a six and a four to Raghuvanshi, he dismissed Rahane for 38 off 27 balls. Venkatesh Iyer arrived at No. 5. KKR stood at 97/3.
Raghuvanshi reached his half-century in the 13th over but fell soon after, caught brilliantly by Harshal Patel. Rinku Singh walked in at No. 6. KKR stood at 108/4 after 13 overs.
Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh’s Late Fireworks
Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh accelerated the scoring, helping KKR post a massive 200/6. Iyer smashed 60 off 29 balls, while Rinku remained unbeaten on 32 from 17.SRH’s Batting Collapses
Chasing 201, SRH struggled from the start. Vaibhav Arora dismissed Travis Head in the first over. Harshit Rana removed Abhishek Sharma soon after. Kamindu Mendis joined the chase at No. 5. Russell dropped Mendis on the last ball, but the over remained a wicket-maiden—one of the rarest moments in IPL history. SRH struggled at 9/3. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Kamindu Mendis tried to rebuild, but KKR’s bowlers remained relentless.
KKR Bowlers Seal the Victory
Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine tightened the grip in the middle overs. Heinrich Klaasen fought back with a few big hits, but Arora dismissed him in the 15th over. Chakaravarthy and Russell wrapped up the innings in the 17th over, bowling out SRH for just 120. KKR controlled every phase of the match, securing an emphatic 80-run victory.
Brief Scorecard
Angkrish Raghuvanshi played his innings sensibly, while Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh both delivered blazing knocks. They stepped onto the field with a positive mindset to overcome their past failures in this IPL season. Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana did a great job by taking wickets and restricting the runs. Varun and Russell ensured that nothing went wrong for KKR.
