Punjab Kings Choose to Bat First
Punjab Kings won the toss. Captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bat. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings. Khaleel Ahmed bowled the first over for Chennai. Priyansh started strong with two sixes. PBKS scored 17 runs from the first over.

In the 11th over, Shashank hit Noor Ahmad for a six, taking PBKS past 100. They scored 14 runs in that over. Then came the 13th over. Priyansh smashed Pathirana for three sixes and a four, reaching his century in just 39 balls. PBKS crossed 150 in that over.
End of an Outstanding Innings
Noor Ahmad ended Priyansh’s knock on the last ball of the 13th over. Priyansh scored 103 off 42 balls. Jansen came in and hit a boundary on his first ball. PBKS reached 164/6 after 15 overs.
Shashank and Jansen Steady the Innings
Both batsmen played smartly. They aimed to finish all 20 overs. Rachin dropped Shashank in the 17th over. PBKS reached 182/6. Their partnership crossed 50 runs in the 19th over. Shashank completed his fifty in the final over. He remained not out on 52 off 36 balls. Jansen scored 34 off 19 balls. PBKS posted 219/6 in 20 overs.
CSK’s Steady Start
Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway opened the chase. Arshdeep bowled the first over. Both openers started positively. They picked boundaries. After 4 overs, CSK were 39/0. They reached 59/0 after the powerplay. Rachin was batting on 35 and Conway on 22.
Maxwell and Ferguson Strike
Maxwell broke the partnership in the 7th over. He dismissed Rachin for 35. Ferguson then removed Ruturaj Gaikwad in the next over. Shivam Dube came in as the Impact Player. After 8 overs, CSK were 69/2.
Conway and Dube Keep Hopes Alive
Dube smashed two sixes in the 10th over. CSK reached 91/2. They crossed 100 in the 11th over. Conway and Dube built a steady partnership. Conway hit a six off Stoinis to complete their 50-run stand. After 13 overs, CSK were 120/2.
Conway went after Jansen in the 14th over. He reached his fifty in 37 balls. CSK scored 19 runs from that over. But Arshdeep bowled tightly next over. CSK were 145/2 after 15.
CSK Lose Momentum
Ferguson dismissed Dube for 42 in the 16th over. Dhoni walked in. Chahal bowled a brilliant 17th over. Then in the 18th, Dhoni hit back-to-back sixes. Conway retired out, and Jadeja joined Dhoni.
Dhoni got out on the first ball of the 20th over. CSK needed 28 runs to win. Shankar came in. Jadeja and Shankar tried but couldn’t chase down the total. CSK finished on 201/5. They lost by 18 runs. Jadeja stayed unbeaten on 9 and Shankar on 2.
