Benny Blanco didn’t just celebrate his 37th birthday — he created a dream night for Selena Gomez. He threw a prom-themed party just for her because she never got the chance to attend one.

Selena, who was homeschooled due to her early acting career, missed this typical high school experience. So, Benny made it happen. “Selena had never been to a prom before,” he said on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “So, I thought I’d throw us a prom for my birthday.”

Selena’s Reaction

At first, Selena felt unsure. She didn’t know what to expect or how to dress. Benny recalled, “She didn’t even know. She was like, ‘What am I supposed to wear? What am I supposed to do?’”

Still, Benny had been to prom before. “I actually got invited when I was younger. I got invited twice to prom. One time I went with a friend and then one time I went with a girlfriend,” he shared.

But this time meant more to him. “But my favourite prom was with my partner,” he added. “I got her a little corsage.”

A Special Engagement

In December 2024, Benny and Selena shared more big news. They announced their engagement with a sweet post on Instagram. The picture showed Selena’s stunning engagement ring up close.

One year earlier, in December 2023, Selena confirmed their relationship. She liked and commented on fan posts showing the two of them together.

Their Love Story in an Album

Recently, the couple released their first joint album titled I Said I Love You First. The album came out in March 2025. According to a press release, it shares “their entire story — before they met, falling in love and looking to what the future holds.”
