Rajasthan Royals will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 28th match of IPL 2025. This will be the first match of the Sunday double-header to be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. After three weeks of IPL action, Jaipur is finally ready for its first match. The weather will be hot. Still, fans expect an exciting game. Both RR and RCB lost their last matches. Hence, both teams are hungry for a comeback.
RR Aim to Bounce Back
So far, Rajasthan have had a rough start. They won only two out of five matches. As a result, they sit at seventh in the standings. Therefore, a win over RCB is crucial for them.
One of the biggest concerns is Yashasvi Jaiswal’s form. He has not scored runs in this IPL, which has hurt the team. Likewise, young players like Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel have lacked consistency.
On the other hand, the bowling unit looks more settled. Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer have bowled well. Both will be important in home conditions.
RCB Impressive Away from Home
RCB lost to Delhi Capitals in their previous match. KL Rahul played a stunning innings that led to RCB's defeat. However, RCB have been excellent away from home. In fact, they have won all three away matches this season.
Although their batting collapsed against DC’s spinners, they started and finished well. That gives them hope.
Meanwhile, fans have called for changes. Liam Livingstone has not performed. As a result, some want Jacob Bethell to play at No. 3. Devdutt Padikkal is also out of form. Therefore, including Bethell could also open a spot for Manoj Bhandage or Swastik Chikara in the lower order.
RR Need Better Performances
In contrast, Rajasthan have fewer options to shuffle. They have two wins, but their performances have not been convincing. Importantly, Wanindu Hasaranga missed the last game for personal reasons. Without him, their spin attack looked weak. Yashasvi Jaiswal is due for a big score. Perhaps, returning to home conditions in Jaipur could help. Earlier, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag looked in good touch against Gujarat Titans. However, the team still lost that match. Despite that, their batting lineup has the talent to bounce back.
Furthermore, Jofra Archer is bowling with rhythm. RR will depend on him. Additionally, they need strong efforts from Nitish Rana and Tushar Deshpande. Without Hasaranga, taking wickets could be difficult. Nevertheless, RR will back themselves to win at home. Still, RCB won’t make it easy—especially if their bowlers can stop RR’s top order early.
