RCB Start Aggressively
Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bowl. Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opened for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Jofra Archer started with the new ball but began with a wide. Salt got off the mark with a single, and Kohli followed with a boundary. RCB quickly reached 11/0 after the first over, including five runs from wides.
Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled the second over. Riyan Parag dropped Salt early. Despite the drop, Salt hit a boundary on the last ball. Kohli dominated the third over with consecutive fours. After three overs, RCB stood at 28/0.
Salt continued the momentum in the fourth over, hitting a four as RCB added 9 runs. Tushar Deshpande bowled the fifth over. Salt and Kohli found boundaries and completed a 50-run stand. After six overs, RCB were 59/0. Salt had 25 runs from 20 balls, and Kohli was on 27 from 16 balls.
RCB Lose First Wicket
Wanindu Hasaranga struck in the seventh over. He dismissed Salt, who scored 26 off 23. Devdutt Padikkal joined Kohli. Only three runs came from that over. RCB reached 62/1 after 7.
Parag bowled the eighth over and gave away 7 runs. Hasaranga returned with a tight ninth over, conceding just six. In the tenth over, Padikkal found a boundary. RCB moved to 83/1 at halfway, with Kohli on 40 and Padikkal on 10.
Kohli, Padikkal Keep Momentum
Padikkal began the 11th over with a four. Kohli followed in the 12th over with back-to-back boundaries and reached his fifty in 32 balls. Devdutt Padikkal added a boundary too. RCB climbed to 109/1.
Padikkal continued in the 13th over, hitting a four and completing a 50-run stand with Kohli. He got a life when Deshpande dropped him. Parag’s 14th over saw both batters smash a six each. RCB gained 15 runs.
RCB Accelerate With Big Hits
In the 15th over, Kohli smashed a six while Padikkal hit two sixes, completing his half-century in 26 balls. RCB stormed to 156/1 after 15 overs. However, Archer broke the stand in the next over by dismissing Kohli for 70. Tim David walked in and got a boundary, but the over produced only four runs. Sandeep Sharma delivered a game-changing 17th over. He removed Padikkal (50) and Rajat Patidar. Jitesh Sharma then opened his account with a four. RCB were 167/4.
RCB Finish Strong
Farooqi gave 14 runs in the 18th over. Sandeep’s 19th over leaked 19 runs as Jitesh hit a four and David launched a six. Archer bowled the final over. Jitesh struck another boundary while David got run out on the last ball for 23. Jitesh remained unbeaten on 20. RCB ended on 205/5.
Royals Get Flying Start
Chasing 206, Jaiswal and Suryavanshi opened for RR. Jaiswal smashed a six in the first over off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He then punished Yash Dayal with two boundaries and a six in the second. Vaibhav joined in with a six in the third. RR were 34/0 after 3 overs.
Jaiswal cracked three consecutive fours in the fourth over. In the fifth, Vaibhav hit a six to complete RR’s 50 and their opening stand. But Bhuvneshwar got his revenge by removing Vaibhav for 16. Nitish Rana came next and opened with a six. RR were 58/1.
Hazlewood bowled the sixth. Jaiswal continued attacking with two fours and a six but then fell for 49. After the powerplay, RR were 72/2.
Royals Build Steady Partnership
Romario Shepherd bowled the seventh. Rana and Parag hit boundaries and a six, collecting 15 runs. Parag kept going with another four and six in the eighth. RR moved to 99/2.
Dayal came in for the ninth over. Rana hit two fours. Krunal Pandya struck in the tenth by removing Parag. Jurel replaced him. After ten overs, RR were 113/3.
Suyash Sharma gave away 7 runs in the 11th. Krunal followed with 8 runs in the 12th. Suyash’s 13th over was tight, conceding only three.
Royals Lose Grip in Middle Overs
In the 14th, Krunal removed Rana, who made 28. Hetmyer entered and hit a boundary. Jurel ended the 15th with a six, taking RR to 148/4. Krunal’s 16th over went for 12 runs, with another six from Jurel. Hazlewood then dismissed Hetmyer in the 17th. Dubey replaced him and ended the over with a four. RR were 166/5. Bhuvneshwar returned for the 18th. Jurel and Dubey smashed two sixes and two fours. RR reached 188/5.
Hazlewood, Dayal Seal It for RCB
Hazlewood bowled a brilliant 19th over. He removed Jurel and Archer while conceding just one run. RR were 189/7.
With 17 needed off the final over, Yash Dayal bowled with composure. He removed Dubey on the first ball. Hasaranga got run out on the third. Farooqi came in as the last man. Dayal allowed only five runs. RR finished at 194/9. RCB sealed the win by 11 runs in a thrilling finish.
