Araghchi Criticizes U.S. Support for Israel, Demands Realistic Talks
Iran’s foreign minister accused Netanyahu of dragging the U.S. into conflict and urged diplomacy to resolve nuclear tensions.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to involve the United States in another war. He issued a strong warning against any attack on Iran.

“Netanyahu is directly MEDDLING within the US Government to DRAG it into another DISASTER in our region,” Araghchi wrote on X. He warned against “ANY mistake against Iran.”

Additionally, Araghchi accused Netanyahu of interfering in U.S. diplomacy. He claimed Netanyahu was “attempting to brazenly DICTATE what President (Donald) Trump can and cannot do in his diplomacy with Iran.”

Araghchi Criticizes U.S. Support for Israel and Yemen Strikes

Furthermore, Araghchi criticized the United States for supporting Israel in its war against Hamas in Gaza. He also referred to recent U.S. airstrikes targeting Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. These rebels have been attacking Israeli targets and commercial ships in the Red Sea.

“LETHAL support for Netanyahu’s Genocide in Gaza and waging WAR on behalf of Netanyahu in Yemen have achieved NOTHING for the American people,” he tweeted.

Netanyahu Blames Iran for Houthi Missile Attack

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Netanyahu blamed Iran for a missile launched by the Houthis near Ben Gurion International Airport. He vowed retaliation. However, Iran denied having any involvement in the incident.

Nuclear Talks Delayed Over Logistical Reasons

Soon after the incident, the latest round of U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations was suspended. Oman, the mediator, cited “logistical reasons” for the delay. The meeting was supposed to happen on Saturday.

So far, both countries have held three rounds of talks since April 12. This marks their highest-level contact since the U.S. left the nuclear deal in 2018 under Trump’s presidency.

Netanyahu and Trump Demand Full Dismantlement of Iran’s Program

In response to the talks, Netanyahu called for a total end to Iran’s nuclear program. He stated that any valid agreement must stop Iran from enriching uranium and from developing ballistic missiles.

Likewise, Trump echoed a similar stance. He insisted on “the total dismantlement” of Iran’s nuclear capabilities. However, he also showed some openness.

“Now, there’s a new theory going out there that Iran would be allowed to have civilian – meaning to make electricity,” Trump told NBC News. He added that he “would be open to hearing” the argument.

Araghchi Calls for Realistic U.S. Approach

In contrast, Araghchi urged the U.S. to take a more reasonable approach. He said Washington must drop its “unrealistic and illogical” positions.

Later, during a phone call with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, he said Iran could resolve concerns about nuclear weapons. He added, “reaching an agreement is fully within reach.”

Iran Ready to Reopen Talks with European Powers

Moreover, Araghchi stated that Iran was ready to resume talks with the UK, France, and Germany. These three countries were part of the original 2015 nuclear deal.

Although Western nations accuse Iran of planning to build a nuclear bomb, Tehran has repeatedly denied it.

Earlier on Monday, Araghchi emphasized diplomacy. He said, “a deal is achievable, and there is only ONE PATH to achieve it: DIPLOMACY based on MUTUAL RESPECT and MUTUAL INTERESTS.”
