Following the launch of precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, India temporarily shut down several northern airports on Wednesday. These closures affected airports in Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, Amritsar, Bikaner, and Hindon. These locations fall across Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and the Delhi NCR region.
Airlines Act Swiftly
Soon after the shutdown, major Indian airlines took immediate action. IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India, and Air India Express informed passengers through posts on X (formerly Twitter). They advised travelers to stay updated and check their flight status before heading to the airport.
