Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 6 wickets in the 61st match of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. With this loss, Lucknow Super Giants are out of the playoff race. Blazing half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, along with a useful contribution from Nicholas Pooran, helped LSG post 205/7 in 20 overs.
While chasing, Abhishek Sharma gave SRH a fiery start despite an early setback. Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen played valuable innings, and later, Kamindu Mendis brought SRH close to victory before retiring hurt. Aniket Verma and Nitish Kumar Reddy sealed the win for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Abhishek Accelerates
Will bowled again in the fourth over. Abhishek smashed two boundaries and a six. SRH crossed 50 runs in the over. Digvesh Singh bowled the fifth, giving away only 6 runs.
Avesh Khan bowled the sixth over. Abhishek hit two fours, bringing up a 50-run stand with Ishan. SRH reached 72/1 after the powerplay. Abhishek was on 35 off 15, while Ishan had 17 off 12.

Klaasen Anchors the Chase
Shardul kept things tight in the 13th over. In the 14th, Kamindu Mendis smashed Digvesh for four boundaries. SRH reached 171/3. Shardul returned for the 15th and gave only 6 runs.
Avesh bowled the 16th over and gave 8 runs. Akash Deep bowled the 17th and conceded just 6 runs.
SRH Seal the Chase
Shardul bowled the 18th over. Klaasen hit two boundaries but got out for 47. Aniket Verma came in next. Kamindu retired hurt, and Nitish Kumar Reddy joined Aniket. Aniket ended the over with a boundary, bringing up 200 for SRH.

Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram played very well. They scored blazing half-centuries and shared a 100-run opening stand. However, Rishabh Pant failed to score, and although Nicholas Pooran scored 45 runs, his knock lacked power hitting. Abdul Samad and Ayush Badoni also failed and got out early.
