Speaking to News18, Gujjar said, “The necklace is more than jewellery—it’s a symbol of strength, vision, and India’s rise on the world stage. By wearing it at Cannes, I wanted to honour our Prime Minister, whose leadership has taken India to new heights.”
The necklace used traditional Rajasthani motifs but stood out due to its bold design. It included tiny portraits of PM Modi, framed with pearls and red enamel lotuses. This piece blended Indian heritage with modern symbolism, sparking global reactions online. Many praised it, while others found the political tone surprising.

Her Lehenga Honoured Rajasthan’s Craft
Gujjar’s stunning lehenga, designed by Roopa Sharmaa, featured rich gold fabric with Gota Patti, mirror work, and hand embroidery. Her outfit celebrated Rajasthan’s royal fashion traditions.
She paired it with a Bandhani dupatta, handcrafted by Zaribari designer Ram, and decorated with Zardozi detailing. Gujjar described the feeling as emotional, saying, “Wearing this dupatta felt like I was draping the soul of Rajasthan.”
Politics Meets Fashion on Red Carpet
At Cannes, fashion often pushes boundaries. However, Gujjar's look stood out for merging political tribute with high fashion. She reflected, “When I walked the red carpet, it felt like I was wearing the soul of Rajasthan.”

Her Journey from Rajasthan to Mumbai
Away from the red carpet, Gujjar has steadily built a name in India’s entertainment scene. After graduating from Maharani College in Jaipur, she shifted to Mumbai to chase her Bollywood dreams.
She previously held the Miss Haryana 2023 title and gained fame through music videos like “Jab Tu Meri Na Rahi” and “Heli Mein Chor.”
Overcoming Community Barriers
Gujjar comes from a Gujjar family in Rajasthan, where women rarely work in entertainment. She told BollywoodMDB, “Since I belong to a Gujjar family, there, women are not allowed to work as I am working.”
Despite cultural restrictions, she pushed forward. “It was difficult to change how people think about women working in Bollywood. I want to be an inspiration in our community, who fought against the will of people’s thoughts. And I am the only one from my community who has come so far in the Bollywood industry.”
Family’s Support Made the Difference
Her parents played a key role in her success. Gujjar shared, “My mother was very scared when I said I wanted to go to Mumbai to work in Bollywood; however, she’s quite proud of me that I’ve come so far. My father has always been very supportive since day one, now my entire family are supporting me.”
Next Goal: South Indian Cinema
Now, Gujjar has her eyes set on bigger dreams. She wants to act in South Indian films, saying, “I want to work in South movies since audiences love them, and I’d love to work in South movies.”
