Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 33 runs in the 64th match of IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With a blazing century from Mitchell Marsh and a quickfire half-century from Nicholas Pooran, LSG posted a massive total on the scoreboard.
While chasing, Gujarat Titans lost their top three batsmen early. Sherfane Rutherford and Shahrukh Khan fought back, but a double strike by Will O'Rourke in the 17th over shifted the momentum in LSG’s favor. A double strike by Ayush Badoni in the final over further extended the winning margin for LSG. It was a commanding win for LSG, but it came too late, as they were already out of the playoff race.
LSG Openers Start Strong
Gujarat Titans won the toss and chose to bowl first. Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh opened for Lucknow Super Giants. Mohammed Siraj started the proceedings for Gujarat. Markram opened his account with a boundary, while Marsh took a single. Only 8 runs came from the first over.
Then, Arshad Khan bowled the second over and began with a wide. Markram hit a boundary and Marsh smashed a six. This over produced 14 runs for LSG. In the third over, Siraj returned. Rabada bowled the 11th over, and Marsh brought up the 100 with a single. He added a boundary too, taking 10 runs off the over. Rashid Khan came on in the 12th and was destroyed—Marsh hammered two sixes and three boundaries. The over yielded 25 runs.
Prasidh Krishna followed up with a tight 13th over, giving away only 4 runs. LSG moved to 136/1 after 13 overs.
Pooran Joins the Party
In the 14th over, Pooran hit Rashid for a six, completing a 50-run partnership with Marsh. Sai Kishore bowled the 15th, where Pooran smashed a four and a six. LSG crossed 160/1.
Siraj bowled the 16th, and Marsh started with a boundary. Pooran took charge, smashing two fours and a six. The over cost GT 20 runs. In the 17th over, Arshad Khan was hit for a four by Marsh, who then completed his century in 56 balls. Their 100-run stand also came up. LSG soared to 194/1.
Big Finish for LSG
Prasidh Krishna bowled the 18th. Pooran reached his half-century in 23 balls. Marsh then hit two sixes, taking LSG past 200. The over gave 18 runs. GT Start Positively in Big Chase
With a target of 236, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill began GT’s chase. Akash Singh bowled the first over. Sudharsan opened with a boundary. Gill followed with a single, and Sudharsan added another four. GT scored 11 runs from the over.
In the second over, Akash Deep conceded 8 runs with a boundary from Sudharsan. Akash Singh returned and was hit for three consecutive boundaries by Gill. GT reached 33/0 after three overs.
GT Lose Sudharsan, Then Fight Back
Akash Deep gave away two more boundaries to Gill in the fourth. Will O’Rourke bowled the fifth and got Sudharsan out for 21. Buttler came in next. That over gave only 4 runs. Avesh Khan bowled the sixth. Buttler hit a four, then two sixes, and another boundary. GT reached 67/1 after six overs. Gill was on 24, while Buttler stood at 20.
LSG Strikes in Middle Overs
Shahbaz Ahmed bowled the seventh over and conceded 9 runs. Avesh returned for the eighth and dismissed Gill for 35 on the last ball. GT moved to 85/2. Rutherford joined Buttler. In the ninth over, O’Rourke gave 9 runs, including a boundary.

Avesh Khan bowled the 14th over. Shahrukh smashed two fours, and Rutherford ended the over with a six, completing a 50-run stand. In the 15th over, Shahrukh hit a six to bring up GT’s 150. Rutherford added a four and a six. GT reached 165/3.
GT Collapse After Good Phase
Akash Deep bowled the 16th over. Shahrukh dominated, smashing two fours and a six. GT got 17 runs from the over. O’Rourke returned for the 17th over. He dismissed Rutherford for 38 and then removed Tewatia for 2. Shahrukh completed his fifty in 22 balls. GT were at 186/5.
Arshad Khan came in next. Shahbaz bowled the 18th over and dismissed Arshad on the last ball. GT were at 193/6. Rashid Khan walked in. Avesh Khan bowled the 19th and got rid of Shahrukh for 57. GT reached 198/7.
GT needed 38 runs off the last over. Ayush Badoni bowled it. Rashid took a single to bring up 200 for GT. Badoni dismissed Rabada and Sai Kishore in the over. Gujarat Titans ended at 202/9.
