Deepika Padukone teams up with her father to launch a nationwide badminton school while gearing up for an action role in Atlee’s next film.

Deepika Padukone and her father, former badminton champion Prakash Padukone, have launched the Padukone School of Badminton (PSB). On Tuesday, Deepika posted a touching photo with her father on Instagram. She used the occasion to wish him a happy birthday and announce their joint venture.

Deepika Shares Her Bond with the Sport

In her caption, Deepika shared how badminton shaped her life. “As someone who grew up playing badminton, I’ve experienced firsthand how much this sport can shape one’s life – physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through Padukone School of Badminton (PSB), we hope to bring the joy and discipline of Badminton to people from all walks of life, and build a generation that is healthier, more focused, and inspired by sport," she wrote.

A Tribute to Her Father’s Passion

She praised her father’s commitment to the sport, even at 70. “Pappa, those who know you well, know your passion for this sport. That even at 70, all you do is eat, sleep and breathe Badminton. And we are committed to making your passion a reality: Badminton for All!" she added.

She ended her message by wishing her father a happy birthday.

Ranveer Singh Reacts with Love

Soon after Deepika shared the post, her husband Ranveer Singh responded. He dropped a smiling face and red-heart emoji in the comments, showing his support.

PSB to Open Centres Across India

The Padukone School of Badminton plans a major expansion. In its first year, it will set up 75 coaching centres in 18 Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, Pune, Nashik, Mysuru, Panipat, Dehradun, Udaipur, Coimbatore, Sangli and Surat.

Moreover, the goal is to open 100 centres by year-end. Within three years, PSB aims to grow to 250 centres nationwide.

Deepika Joins Atlee’s Action Film

Besides her sports initiative, Deepika is also busy with her next film. She will star alongside Allu Arjun in director Atlee’s upcoming project, tentatively titled AA22xA6.

Recently, the makers shared a video welcoming Deepika on board. It showed her discussing the script with Atlee and getting ready on set. From the visuals, it’s clear she will play an action-packed role.

The caption described Deepika as a “queen” who is ready to “conquer.”
