Russian Drone Strike Kills One in Odesa, Four Injured
A deadly Russian drone strike on Odesa kills one and injures four as peace talks freeze and tensions rise across Ukraine.

Russia launched a large drone attack on Odesa early Tuesday. The strike killed one man and injured four people. Odesa Governor Oleg Kiper said on Telegram that the drones hit homes and a maternity ward. A 59-year-old man died in the attack.

This happened a day after Ukraine launched “Operation Spider Web,” which targeted Russian airbases. Russia said it attacked Odesa in response to that operation.

Air raid sirens sounded across much of Ukraine during the attack. Warnings were active in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv.

Drone Threats Shut Down Moscow Airports

In Moscow, officials halted flights at four major airports. Russia’s civil aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, blamed the shutdown on drone threats.

Local reports said Russian defence systems shot down 76 Ukrainian drones in just two hours Monday night. This came shortly after Russia launched its biggest drone strike on Ukraine so far.

Trump Pushes Ceasefire as Talks Freeze

US President Donald Trump tried to broker a ceasefire. However, a second round of peace talks in Turkey ended without progress.

So far, both sides agreed only to release some prisoners. These include those who are seriously sick or under 25 years old. But the deal did not mention how many would be freed.

Russia and Ukraine Hold Firm on Demands

Russia made clear demands to end the war. It wants Ukraine to give up annexed territories and stay out of NATO.

It also rejected Ukraine’s call for a 30-day ceasefire. Russia said that would give Ukraine time to rearm with Western weapons.

Ukraine refused these conditions. It wants a full Russian withdrawal and security guarantees from Western nations. Ukrainian leaders called Russia’s demands “ultimatums.”
