Indian Embassy Urges Citizens in Iran to Stay Alert
India urges its citizens in Iran to stay alert and calls for calm as Israel-Iran tensions escalate after deadly airstrikes.

As tensions between Iran and Israel increased, the Indian Embassy in Iran advised citizens to stay alert. On Friday morning, the embassy urged Indians in Iran to “remain vigilant” and “avoid all unnecessary movements.” Officials also asked them to “follow the Embassy’s social media accounts” and observe “safety protocols as advised by local authorities.”

The warning came after Israel launched strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites. These attacks reportedly killed the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and also Israeli Army Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri.

Iran Retaliates with Drone Attack

Shortly after the strikes, Iran sent over 100 drones into Israeli airspace. However, Israeli fighter jets intercepted the drones. Despite this defense, the global community now waits to see how Iran will respond next. Many fear this may lead to a wider conflict in West Asia.

India Calls for Calm and Dialogue

In a separate statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said it was “deeply concerned” about the situation. The ministry noted, “We are closely monitoring the evolving situation, including reports related to attacks on nuclear sites.”

India appealed to both countries to avoid further escalation. The ministry stated, “India urges both sides to avoid any escalatory steps” and suggested that “existing channels of dialogue and diplomacy” be used to ease tensions.

India Ready to Help Both Sides

India said it maintains “close and friendly relations with both countries” and is “ready to extend all possible support.” At the same time, officials confirmed that Indian missions in Iran and Israel are in regular contact with local Indian communities.

The statement added, “All Indian nationals in the region are advised to exercise caution, stay safe and follow local security advisories.”
