Paris Jackson has responded to online criticism after fans objected to her upcoming performance on June 25, the anniversary of her father Michael Jackson’s death. She is touring with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra, and one of the shows happens to fall on that date.
Paris Breaks Her Silence
On Instagram Stories, Paris addressed the issue in a video that later circulated widely on social media. While explaining her situation, she said the criticism upset her because June 25 is “a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family.”
Paris, who is the daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, also shares this grief with her brother, Prince Jackson, who is now 28.
She Doesn’t Control the Schedule
Paris clarified that she does not get to decide the concert dates. She said, “When you’re not headlining these shows, you don’t pick what date you perform, or what time you go on stage, or what city you perform in.” According to her, fans often glamorize touring, without knowing the reality.
She further revealed that she won’t even have her full team with her. She added, “It’s just me and my acoustic guitar and my sound guy, who happens to be my fiancé (musician Justin Long). So we’re gonna be in a soccer mom van.”

She Sees It as an Honor
Despite the backlash, Paris said she was thankful for the opportunity. She explained, “This feels like Incubus is doing me a favour by bringing me out on tour.” Therefore, she questioned, “So I’m gonna tell them, ‘Sorry guys, we can’t perform on this date?’”
She ended her message firmly by saying, “F**k you,” clearly frustrated by the negative attention.
Paris is scheduled to perform in Nashville on June 25, which marks 16 years since Michael Jackson passed away at age 50.
Not the First Time
Previously, Paris also received hate for not posting about Michael’s birthday in August 2023. At the time, she explained in a video, “Today is my dad’s birthday and back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday.” She also said, “He didn’t want us to even know when his birthday was because he didn’t want us to throw a party or anything like that.”
Paris said people were wrong to judge her way of remembering her father.
