US President Donald Trump has told his senior advisers that he has approved a military plan targeting Iran. However, he has not yet given the final go-ahead. According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump wants to wait and see if Iran stops its nuclear activities before taking further action.
One likely target is Iran’s Fordow nuclear enrichment facility. The site sits deep inside a mountain and is heavily fortified. Experts say only extremely powerful bombs could destroy it.
When asked if he had already made a decision, Trump said, “I may do it, I may not.” He added, “The next week is going to be very big – maybe even sooner.” Trump stressed that Iran must fully give up its nuclear goals without any conditions.
He claimed that Iran was only weeks away from building a nuclear weapon before Israel attacked its facilities last week. Now, Trump says he will not settle for a ceasefire. Instead, he wants complete victory.
Reaffirming his firm position, Trump said, “We’re not looking for a ceasefire. We’re looking for total and complete victory. And victory means no nuclear weapon. That’s it.”
Khamenei Responds with Warning
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded with a warning. In a recorded message on Wednesday, he said that “any US military intervention” would lead to serious consequences. He made it clear that “The Iranian nation will not surrender.”
Trump, however, dismissed Khamenei’s threat. He replied with a short message: “Good luck.” He added, “Nobody knows what I’m going to do. Unconditional surrender – that means I’ve had it.”
Fresh Clashes Between Iran and Israel
While tensions rise between the US and Iran, Israel has launched new strikes on Iranian missile locations and nuclear infrastructure.
In response, Iran claimed it fired hypersonic missiles. However, reports say those attacks caused no major damage in Israel.
