Iran Refuses to Stop Nuclear Work Despite War With Israel
Iran's president refused to stop nuclear activities during the war with Israel and warned of a stronger response if attacks continue.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that Iran will keep its nuclear work going. He made this clear during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron.

He said Iran is “ready to discuss and cooperate to build confidence in the field of peaceful nuclear activities.” But he firmly added that Iran does “not agree to reduce nuclear activities to zero under any circumstances.” The state news agency IRNA reported his remarks.

Iran Threatens Stronger Attacks on Israel

Pezeshkian warned that Iran would hit back harder if Israel keeps attacking. He said Iran’s response to Israeli “aggression” will be “more devastating.”

He also defended Iran’s nuclear rights. Pezeshkian told Macron that Iran “has always announced that it is ready to provide guarantees and build confidence in its peaceful nuclear activities within the framework of international law.”

He added that “the rights granted to countries and nations by international law cannot be taken away from them by threats or war.”

Geneva Talks Fail to Reach a Deal

World powers met in Geneva on Friday. But the talks ended without a deal.

European officials still hope talks will resume. Iran’s foreign minister said Iran is open to more diplomacy. But he ruled out talks with the U.S. while Israel continues its attacks.

He said Iran is “ready to consider diplomacy once again, and once aggression is stopped and the aggressor is held accountable for the crimes committed.”

So far, no new date has been set for more talks.

Internet Still Down Across Iran

Many Iranians still can’t get updates. On Saturday, NetBlocks.org said internet access “collapsed” again.

A nationwide shutdown has blocked access for several days. People in Iran are struggling to get news or stay connected.
