Carson Branstine, a rising tennis player with both Canadian and American roots, is all set to play on Wimbledon’s iconic grass courts for the very first time. In a tough opening-round match, she will face world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Known for her strong serve and confident presence, Branstine hopes to leave a lasting impression at the All-England Club.
Who Is Carson Branstine?
Currently ranked 197th in the world, Branstine gained recognition through her successful college tennis journey at Texas A&M. Alongside tennis, she worked as a model to support her career financially. As reported by The New York Post, her story of balancing both worlds has attracted public interest.
Speaking to reporters from Wimbledon and Clay, Branstine described modeling as a helpful side job. “It’s a cool little side hustle,” she said. “I love being in front of the camera during a shoot. It’s fun, I love fashion. It’s been one of the reasons I’ve been able to pay some of my trips. I didn’t want to ask my parents for anything — I wanted everything to come from me and from my tennis.”
Her Instagram feed reflects both her passions, showing posts from tennis matches and photoshoots alike.
Modeling and Tennis Have a Surprising Link
Branstine pointed out a shared experience in both careers. She said, “You are an object a lot, and people sometimes forget you’re a person too.” Despite suffering from several injuries, she played a key role in helping Texas A&M win the national championship in 2024.
Life Off the Court
Branstine has also been serious about academics. She studied Society, Ethics, and Law, with minors in Philosophy and Sports Management. She even spent a year working alongside a lawyer, gaining real-world legal experience. “I did family law shadowing a lawyer, which was very emotional,” she shared.
Looking ahead, she dreams of practicing law and starting a family. But at this moment, her full focus is on Wimbledon—where she hopes to pull off a stunning upset against the top-ranked player in the world.
