UPSRTC to Start 63 Buses for Rural Routes from July 15
UPSRTC will roll out 63 new buses on 55 rural routes from July 15 to boost last-mile connectivity in Prayagraj and nearby districts.

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) will start 63 new buses on 55 rural routes across the Prayagraj region. These new services will begin from July 15, according to officials.

New Plan Follows Field Surveys

Earlier, UPSRTC conducted detailed field surveys to assess transport needs. It also held talks with MLAs, village heads, and BDC members. As a result, the corporation selected routes based on public demand. "These routes have been selected entirely on the basis of public demand," said Ravindra Kumar, the regional manager of UPSRTC-Prayagraj.

Buses Designed for Rural Terrain

Furthermore, all 63 buses are 42-seaters and built to handle rough rural roads. Officials confirmed that 34 buses have already arrived at their respective depots. The remaining 29 will arrive within the next few days.

Routes Cover Prayagraj and Beyond

Out of the 55 total routes, 25 will operate in Prayagraj and surrounding towns, while 19 will serve the Pratapgarh area. In addition, a few buses from Lalganj will connect to major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, and Varanasi.

Key Routes to Boost Connectivity

For instance, some new routes in Prayagraj will include:

  • Chitrakoot via Nyayipur and Nawabganj

  • Sultanpur via Holagarh and Hathigwan

  • Jaunpur via Suriyawan and Pipri

  • Mirzapur via Manda Road and Koraon

Similarly, new routes in Pratapgarh will provide direct access to Prayagraj, through towns like Durgaganj, Jamtali, and Patti, and link to other major cities.

A Big Step Toward Rural Development

Overall, these new bus services aim to improve last-mile connectivity in remote parts of the region. In turn, they will make travel easier for people in villages who often face challenges in reaching cities. Moreover, this expansion will boost rural access to education, jobs, and health services.
