US President Donald Trump has threatened to sue media tycoon Rupert Murdoch. This came after Murdoch’s newspaper, The Wall Street Journal, published a story linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein. The report appeared on Thursday and focused on an old letter, allegedly signed by Trump.
In response, Trump attacked Murdoch and the Wall Street Journal on his social media platform, Truth Social. He called the report “fake news” and said he plans to sue the Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Murdoch himself “shortly.”
Report Claims Epstein Link
The Wall Street Journal’s report accused Trump of having past connections with Jeffrey Epstein. The story included a letter that Epstein’s friends reportedly sent to Trump on his 50th birthday in 2003. This letter supposedly carried what the paper described as a “bawdy” signature from Trump.
However, Trump strongly denied the claim. He said he had warned both the Wall Street Journal and Murdoch personally that the letter was fake. Still, according to Trump, the paper went ahead and published the story.
In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote that the WSJ had ignored his denial and chose to publish what he calls a false story.
Now, Trump has publicly threatened legal action against Murdoch and his companies.
