Actor Suniel Shetty has sparked another controversy. In a recent interview, he said that in a marriage, “the wife needs to understand that if the husband is building his career, she will need to take care of the child.” This remark upset many, especially because it followed his earlier “comfort of C-section” statement, which had already drawn online criticism.
He Believes Marriage Needs Patience and Adjustment
Shetty shared his thoughts on how modern marriages work. He told Pinkvilla that “kids these days have no patience.” He explained that after a few years, “marriage becomes a compromise where you have to understand each other and live for each other.”
When speaking about parenting, he added, “Then a child comes into the picture, and the wife needs to understand the husband will focus on his career.” He clarified, “Of course, the husband will also be involved, but these days there’s too much pressure in everything.”
He Commented on Changing Times
Suniel also noted how the virtual world now influences parenting. He said people “get advice on everything—from how to be a mother or father to what to eat and how to live.”
Internet Reacts Strongly to His Views
Social media users didn’t take his comments lightly. One person wrote on Reddit, “He needs to stop talking.” Another joked, “He should try C-section in interviews since the delivery of his statements normally go wrong.”
Others criticized his repeated remarks. One said, “He is ruining his own image... sometimes being quiet is the wisest thing.” Another added, “After the natural birth warrior story, he’s back with male chauvinism. Seriously, he should just stop talking.”
Some even brought up his son-in-law, cricketer K.L. Rahul. One user commented, “Bro should learn from his damad.”
Suniel Shetty to Appear in Upcoming Show
Despite the criticism, Suniel Shetty remains active in acting. He will be seen in the new season of Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega. Still, many believe that if he continues making such remarks, his public image may suffer further.
