Supriya Sule Lauds PM Modi for Trusting Opposition in Anti-Terror Diplomacy
Supriya Sule appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for trusting Opposition leaders to represent India globally after the Pahalgam terror attack.
During a discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing "greatness" by involving Opposition leaders in diplomatic efforts after Operation Sindoor. Sule said that the Prime Minister made a “big-hearted” decision by letting members of the Opposition head international delegations. She shared that Union Minister Kiren Rijiju personally called her. As she recalled in Parliament, “When we got a call from Kiren Rijiju, he just told me on the phone that Supriya, you will have to give 10 days for the country... It was the greatness of the Prime Minister that he showed faith in the opposition leaders to lead the delegations.”

Congress First to Support Centre, Says Sule

Sule also praised the Congress party for its immediate support to the central government following the terror attack in Pahalgam. According to her, “At the all-party meeting, the Congress party was the first to say that the Congress party and the entire opposition will stand with Narendra Modi's government with full strength.” She emphasized that political unity during a national crisis is important, and the Opposition responded responsibly.

Global Outreach Through All-Party Delegations

After Operation Sindoor, the government sent seven all-party delegations to different countries to spread India’s message of zero tolerance toward terrorism. These teams included MPs from various political parties, such as Supriya Sule (NCP-SP), Shashi Tharoor (Congress), Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM), and former ambassadors. Sule led Group 7, which visited Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, and South Africa. Their mission was to present India's strong stand against terrorism to global partners and allies.
