Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised Operation Sindoor. He said the military action sent a powerful message to those who threaten India’s sovereignty. According to him, the mission filled the country with pride and renewed confidence.
While speaking at an event to mark the birth anniversary of Chola emperor Rajendra Chola I, Modi made a clear statement. He said, “Operation Sindoor proved that for enemies of India, for terrorists, there is no safe haven.”
Public Response Showed National Support
Earlier that day, Modi traveled from the helipad to the venue. Along the way, he saw crowds cheering for the operation. The 3-4 km route turned into a roadshow. People showered praise on the mission. Therefore, Modi declared, “Operation Sindoor has created a new awakening, a new self-confidence across the country.” He added, “The world has to realise India’s strength.”
Government to Honour Chola Legacy
Moreover, Modi paid tribute to the Chola dynasty. He said Raja Raja Chola and Rajendra Chola I represented India’s rich heritage and pride. As a result, he announced that the government would build grand statues of both emperors in Tamil Nadu. He stated, “These statues will be modern pillars of our historic awakening.”
India’s Democratic History Runs Deep
In addition, Modi reminded the audience about India’s ancient democratic traditions. He noted that many people refer to the Magna Carta when talking about democracy. However, he highlighted the Kudavolai system used during the Chola era, which existed more than 1,000 years ago. This, he said, proves that India valued democracy long before the West.
