Apple is preparing to launch its next-generation smartphones—the iPhone 17 series—in September 2025. This new lineup will include four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The upcoming series is expected to bring major upgrades. These include a fresh design, improved camera systems, a smoother operating system, and more. Recent leaks have already revealed important details about the devices.

Expected Release Date and Price in India

Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple analyst, stated in his Bloomberg report that the iPhone 17 series will be unveiled globally between September 8 and 10, 2025. The phones will go on sale a few days later.

In India, the iPhone 17 may start at ₹89,900, while the iPhone 17 Air could be priced at ₹99,900. The iPhone 17 Pro is likely to cost around ₹1,35,900, and the top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max may start at ₹1,64,900.

According to Macworld, Apple will launch the iPhone 17 and 17 Air in Light Gold, Light Blue, Purple, and Green. The Pro models will be available in Black, White, Grey, and Dark Blue.

Fresh Design and Camera Changes

The standard iPhone 17 will keep its existing design without major changes. However, the iPhone 17 Air will feature a new camera layout that resembles Google's Pixel phones, with a single sensor on the back.

The Pro and Pro Max models will have a large camera island stretching across the back with sensors placed to the left.

Camera specs are also getting an upgrade:

• iPhone 17: Dual rear camera with a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor

• iPhone 17 Air: A single 48MP rear sensor

• Pro and Pro Max: Triple rear cameras with three 48MP lenses (main, ultra-wide, and telephoto)

On the front, all models will have a 24MP selfie camera for sharper video calls and photos.

Performance, RAM, and Processors

The Pro models will see a RAM upgrade from 8GB to 12GB, making them faster and better at multitasking.

• iPhone 17 Air and Base: Will run on Apple’s A18 and A19 chipsets

• Pro models: Will use the powerful A19 Pro processor

Apple may also include its ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate, promising smoother visuals across supported apps and features.

From improved cameras and processors to design tweaks and color options, the iPhone 17 series promises a fresh experience for Apple users. While the Siri AI update is coming in 2026, these new devices aim to keep Apple competitive in the smartphone space.
