Marilyn Manson Bids Emotional Farewell to Ozzy Osbourne
Marilyn Manson honored Ozzy Osbourne with a heartfelt tribute, calling him a "beloved friend" and thanking the family for a meaningful farewell.

Legendary rock icon Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, triggering a wave of tributes from music legends around the world. One of the most heartfelt came from Marilyn Manson, who shared a deeply personal message on social media after attending the late musician’s funeral.

Manson Shares His Grief and Gratitude

Manson, 56, took to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to honor Osbourne’s memory. He wrote, “Today we laid to rest a beloved friend. I am eternally grateful that you let me into your life Ozzy. Your inspiration and love will always be with me.”

He also thanked the Osbourne family for the intimate ceremony, adding, “Thank you Sharon and family for a reverent and beautiful ceremony. Your legacy lives on.”

A Private Farewell at Ozzy’s Home

On July 30, more than 100 guests gathered for Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral. It was a private ceremony, held at his home in Buckinghamshire, where he was laid to rest beside a lake on the estate—just as he had wished. The attendees included close family members and iconic names from the rock music world.

Ozzy’s wife Sharon Osbourne, along with their children Kelly, Jack, Aimee, and Louis, were present. His Black Sabbath bandmates—Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward—also attended. Famous musicians like Elton John, Rob Zombie, James Hetfield, and Corey Taylor joined them.

A source told the New York Post, “Everyone at the service wanted to help Sharon and the children. It has been an awful time.” The source added that the gathering was heartfelt, saying, “It was a very fitting goodbye—toasts were raised, memories were shared.”

Yungblud and a Musical Tribute

During the ceremony, Yungblud, who had become close to Ozzy in recent years, was expected to perform in his honor. The service had a special atmosphere as many guests wore gothic and heavy metal-inspired outfits, in tribute to Osbourne’s iconic style.

The day before the funeral, a local brass band played “Iron Man” in memory of the rock legend. Fans also gathered in Birmingham at symbolic places like the Black Sabbath bridge on Broad Street to pay their respects.

Manson and Osbourne’s Long Bond

Marilyn Manson had supported Ozzy Osbourne for decades. In 2002, he attended the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony when Black Sabbath received their star. In 2006, he co-hosted the Scream Awards with Ozzy on Spike TV. Just weeks before Ozzy’s death, Manson appeared during Black Sabbath’s farewell performance of Back to the Beginning on July 5.
