Seth Rogen Stunned as The Studio Makes Emmy History with 23 Nominations
Seth Rogen said he was “in shock” after The Studio earned 23 Emmy nominations, including his first lead actor nod.

Seth Rogen is still surprised by the massive success of The Studio. The comedy series broke records by receiving 23 Emmy nominations, the highest ever for a debut comedy show.

While promoting Platonic, Seth told extra tv that the news caught him off guard. He said, “I was honestly in shock a bit… sort of in a daze.”

Pressure Replaced the Joy

When the nominations were announced, Seth was writing for the show. Instead of feeling proud, he felt nervous. He admitted, “I was just sort of flooded with the fear that what we were doing wasn't good enough and that we should start over because now there was all this pressure.”

A Quiet Celebration

Seth said he later calmed down and enjoyed the moment. He recalled, “I got over that and then by the evening I started to feel very happy.”

To mark the occasion, Seth and his wife kept it simple. “We went out and got some cheeseburgers and had some glasses of wine and it was lovely,” he said.

Seth Feels a Bit Guilty

Even after the success, Seth admitted he felt uneasy. He joked, “I feel bad. Trust me, there is guilt over all this.” He’s still trying to believe how well the show has done.

The Studio Breaks Emmy Record

The Studio now holds the record for the most Emmy nominations for a debut comedy. It beat Ted Lasso, which had 20 nominations in 2021.

A Major Career Moment

This year, Seth received his first-ever Emmy nomination for Lead Actor in a Comedy. He has earned Emmy nods before for producing and supporting roles in Pam & Tommy and The Boys. With the latest nominations, Seth now has eight Emmy nods in total.

He also earned nominations for writing and directing The Studio. He shares those credits with longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg.
