The Ministry of Culture announced on August 11 the fourth edition of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. This initiative, launched under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, encourages citizens to bring the Indian National Flag — the Tiranga — into their homes and hearts.
According to the ministry, the campaign has grown into a people's movement. In its fourth year, over 5 lakh young people have registered to take part.
Union Minister Highlights Youth Participation
Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said more than 5 lakh youths have joined as volunteers this year. “These youths will inspire people for the Tiranga campaign,” he stated.
Speaking at a press conference, Shekhawat stressed that Har Ghar Tiranga is more than just a campaign. “It is an emotional movement that unites 1.4 billion Indians under the timeless colours of our National Flag,” he said. The campaign aims to spark patriotism, encourage civic pride, and raise awareness about the Tiranga as a living symbol of democracy and independence.
Leaders Lead by Example Ahead of Independence Day
On Wednesday, Chief Ministers of several BJP-led states joined the campaign by hoisting the tricolour at their residences. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath raised the flag and posted on X, “The proclamation of our unity, the resolve of our integrity, the eternal symbol of our sovereignty and pride... 'Our Tricolour' Let us join the #HarGharTiranga campaign...Jai Hind!”
