A man was killed and another seriously injured in a bold shooting outside a pub in Sydney on Sunday evening, August 18. Meanwhile, police launched a search for the attackers.
Attack at Harold Park Hotel
Emergency crews rushed to the Harold Park Hotel in Forest Lodge around 6:40 p.m. after two men were shot by attackers who then fled in a car. The 39-year-old man died at the scene despite immediate efforts from police, paramedics, and a local doctor. At the same time, the 31-year-old victim was chased and shot multiple times before collapsing behind the hotel. Officers and medical students gave him first aid before he was transported to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Police Condemn Attack
Detective Superintendent Alfio Sergi described the shooting as an “outrageous, brazen, callous attack.” He added that a bullet shattered a pub window and narrowly missed a female staff member, putting bystanders at risk. Furthermore, police are actively searching for a dark-coloured vehicle believed to be used by the attackers. They have also appealed to witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
