Google Cloud has strengthened its top team by appointing Karthik Narain as Chief Product and Business Officer. Narain, a former Chief Technology Officer at Accenture, will guide the company’s product strategy and growth in the global AI and enterprise cloud markets.

His appointment comes as Google pushes to expand its cloud business and lead in artificial intelligence solutions.

Sundar Pichai Welcomes the Move

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced Narain’s appointment on LinkedIn and praised his leadership.

Pichai said Narain would be a “key leader” working with customers to help them transform their businesses using AI.

Narain’s Role and Responsibilities

Narain will lead Google Cloud’s product and engineering teams in major areas like cloud, data, developer tools, and applied AI. He will also direct the company’s go-to-market strategy — how Google sells and promotes its products.

His work will include close coordination with Google’s Public Sector division, which manages partnerships with governments and institutions.

Over Two Decades of Tech Experience

Narain brings over 25 years of experience in technology consulting and digital transformation. Before joining Google, he worked at Accenture and HCLTech in several top positions. At Accenture, he played a key role in expanding digital and cloud services across global markets.

Narain said he is eager to use his expertise in enterprise systems and combine it with Google’s powerful AI technologies. He called the new role an “incredible opportunity” to create more value for Google Cloud’s customers and partners.
