A mass shooting broke out at Lincoln University near Oxford, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night, leaving at least four people injured during homecoming festivities.
The Chester County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the incident in a statement, saying, “The Chester County District Attorney's Office is aware of a shooting with multiple victims that occurred at Lincoln University this evening. Law enforcement has responded to the scene and are actively investigating. Please avoid the area at this time.”
Four People Injured, Campus Locked Down
According to early reports, one person was shot during the Homecoming tailgate and yardfest event, CBS News Philadelphia reported, citing sources. However, ABC6 Action News later confirmed that at least four people were hit by gunfire and taken to Christiana Hospital. Their conditions remain unknown.
The shooting reportedly occurred near the university’s football field. Witnesses said the chaos began shortly after 9 p.m., with police arriving on the scene around 9:15. Some witnesses told CBS News Philadelphia that one person received CPR at the scene. Other reports suggested a few people may have been trampled as they ran for safety, though this has not been officially confirmed.

An independent reporter shared details on Facebook, writing, “Shooting at Lincoln University in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Multiple people have been shot.
