Kamala Harris Hints at 2028 Presidential Run, Says ‘I Am Not Done’
Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has hinted at another presidential run in 2028, saying she is “not done” with politics and believes America will eventually elect a woman president.

Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has suggested that she is considering another run for the White House. In an interview with the BBC, set to air on Sunday, Harris said she would “possibly” be the next president. Her remarks marked the strongest signal yet that she might enter the 2028 presidential race.

Although she stopped short of a formal announcement, Harris made it clear that she plans to remain active in American politics. “I am not done,” she told the BBC. “I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones.”

Harris Unfazed by Poor Poll Numbers

Harris’s comments come at a time when she is trailing in national polls. Surveys show her ranking far behind other potential Democratic contenders, including actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Still, she brushed off the disappointing numbers, saying that she had often been underestimated before. “If I listened to polls, I would not have run for my first office, or my second office – and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” Harris said confidently.

She also expressed hope that the US would eventually see its first female president, even if it is not her.

Harris Criticises Trump’s Leadership

In the same interview, Harris harshly criticised current US President Donald Trump. She claimed that her earlier warnings about him during the 2024 campaign had proven accurate.

According to Harris, Trump has been acting like a “fascist” and “authoritarian.” She called him a “tyrant” with “thin skin” who has used the justice system for personal revenge.

“He said he would weaponise the Department of Justice – and he has done exactly that … His skin is so thin he couldn’t endure criticism from a joke, and attempted to shut down an entire media organisation in the process,” she said.

Harris Defends Media Freedom

Harris pointed to the recent suspension of comedian Jimmy Kimmel by ABC. Kimmel was briefly taken off air after joking about Republican reactions to the killing of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. The move was reportedly encouraged by a Trump-appointed regulator and publicly celebrated by Trump himself.

Harris said the incident reflected the president’s intolerance toward criticism and his willingness to silence dissent.

Criticism of Business Leaders

The former vice president also accused major corporations and institutions of yielding to Trump’s authority. “There are many … that have capitulated since day one, who are bending the knee at the foot of a tyrant, I believe, for many reasons, including they want to be next to power, because they want to perhaps have a merger approved or avoid an investigation,” she said.

Harris argued that such submission to political pressure poses a serious threat to American democracy and independence.

White House Responds

When asked about Harris’s remarks, a White House spokesperson dismissed her claims, saying: “When Kamala Harris lost the election in a landslide, she should’ve taken the hint – the American people don’t care about her absurd lies.”

Harris Promotes Her New Book

Currently, Harris is on an international book tour for 107 Days, her memoir about her short 2024 presidential campaign. The book recounts her experiences after former President Joe Biden withdrew from the race amid concerns about his health.

Harris’s tour, along with her latest comments, has fueled speculation that she may use the momentum to prepare for another White House run in 2028.
