Defending champions FC Goa secured their place in the semi-finals of the AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 after a commanding 3-0 win against Inter Kashi at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda on Wednesday, October 29.
The Gaurs dominated from start to finish, scoring all three goals before the halftime whistle. Dejan Dražić opened the scoring in the third minute, while Borja Herrera struck twice in quick succession in the 38th and 42nd minutes.
The result kept FC Goa’s perfect record intact, taking them to six points from two matches. With NorthEast United FC and Jamshedpur FC settling for a draw earlier in the day, neither team can overtake Goa, who have now advanced to the knockout stage with one game remaining. Inter Kashi, on the other hand, were eliminated after managing just one point in their campaign.
Early Dominance and Quick Goals
From the opening whistle, Goa displayed confidence and sharpness. Their passing rhythm and attacking combinations left Inter Kashi struggling to keep up.
The breakthrough came within three minutes when Dražić punished a defensive mistake. A poor throw-in by Inter Kashi led to confusion in their own box, as defender David Humanes slipped. Muhammed Nemil reacted quickly, feeding Dražić, who calmly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Shubham Das to make it 1-0.
Goa continued to dictate play, moving the ball with ease and finding gaps in Kashi’s backline. Dražić’s creativity and vision were on full display as he controlled the tempo. His partnership with Herrera proved deadly, and their chemistry paid off again in the 38th minute.
Dražić dribbled past Wayne Vaz with a clever nutmeg before setting up Herrera, who struck a low, accurate volley into the near corner to double the lead.
Just four minutes later, Herrera added his second. David Timor Copovi delivered a long aerial ball from his own half that caught Kashi’s defence off guard. Herrera timed his run perfectly, brushed off Aritra Das, and guided a precise header into the net to make it 3-0 before halftime.
Goa in Full Control
The second half saw a more controlled display from Goa. With a comfortable lead, they managed the tempo well while continuing to test the opposition. Muhammed Nemil, Timor Copovi, and young substitute Prachit Gaonkar all came close to extending the lead, but goalkeeper Shubham Das pulled off some impressive saves to limit the damage.
Inter Kashi, however, failed to mount any real comeback. Their defence struggled under pressure, the midfield looked disconnected, and their forwards rarely threatened. Missing key foreign players, they found it difficult to match Goa’s intensity and structure.
A Confident Step Toward the Title
The dominant win reaffirmed why FC Goa remain one of the strongest sides in the competition. Their balance, teamwork, and clinical finishing have set them apart as they look to defend their Super Cup crown.
Goa will play their final group match with no pressure, already assured of a place in the semi-finals. Inter Kashi, meanwhile, will aim to restore pride in their concluding fixture.
