Rajasthan United FC were denied a crucial win as Sporting Club Delhi came from behind to hold them 2-2 in their final Group D match of the AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 at the GMC Stadium, Bambolim, on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
The Desert Warriors led 2-0 at half-time, but SC Delhi struck twice in the second half to claim their first and only point of the tournament.
Rajasthan United Dominate First Half
Rajasthan United started aggressively, needing a four-goal win to stay in contention for the semi-finals. Despite the urgency, SC Delhi created the first clear chance in the ninth minute, when Devendra Murgaokar set up Augustine Lalrochana, who shot over the bar.
Rajasthan kept pressing and found the breakthrough in the 22nd minute. From Lalfelkima’s corner, Pedro Astray rose high at the far post and headed the ball past goalkeeper Vishal Yadav.
Thirteen minutes later, they doubled their advantage. Astray sent a long cross-field pass to Alan Thapa on the right, who squared it across goal for Robinson Blandón to finish with ease in the 35th minute.
By halftime, Rajasthan United looked firmly in control, leading 2-0 and dominating possession.
SC Delhi Stage Strong Comeback
After the break, SC Delhi came out with renewed energy and higher pressing. Their persistence paid off in the 61st minute when Andrei Alba slipped a through ball to Sourav, who sprinted into space on the right and fired past James Kithan to make it 2-1. It was SC Delhi’s first-ever goal from open play in the competition.
The game turned more physical as both sides battled hard in midfield. Abdul Samed Ango of Rajasthan and Manoj Mohammad of SC Delhi received yellow cards in quick succession.
Rajasthan tried to regain control and seal the match. Thomo L. Shimray went close in the 78th minute, volleying just wide from a corner.
Late Drama Ends Rajasthan’s Hopes
As the match neared its end, SC Delhi kept pushing for an equaliser. Deep into stoppage time, Andrei Alba whipped in a dangerous cross from the right. Alan Saji reacted instinctively and chested the ball into the net from close range in the 90+4th minute, leveling the score at 2-2.
The result crushed Rajasthan United’s semi-final hopes. They finished the group stage with four points, while SC Delhi ended last with a single point.
Later in the day, Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City FC were set to battle for the top spot and the final semi-final berth at Fatorda.
