Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a rally in Sitamarhi, Bihar, ahead of the second phase of the assembly election. He said the polls would decide the future of Bihar’s children and attacked the RJD for promoting violence and misrule.
Modi Seeks Blessings in Sitamarhi
PM Modi began his speech by seeking blessings from the people of the land of Mother Sita. “Today, I have come to this sacred land of Mother Sita, seeking your blessings, so it is natural that those days come to mind amidst people filled with such enthusiasm. Only with the blessings of Mother Sita will Bihar become a developed Bihar," he said.
He said the election was crucial for the state’s future. “This election will determine what the future of Bihar’s children will be in the coming years, what the future of your offspring will be. Therefore, this election is very important," he added.
Modi Rejects ‘Gun-Wielding Government’
PM Modi urged voters to reject what he called a violent government. “Nahi chahiye katta sarkaar, fir ek baar NDA sarkaar,” he said. It means, “We don’t want a gun-wielding government; once again, we want an NDA government.”
He questioned whether the youth should become criminals or professionals. “Should a child from Bihar become a Rangdaar or a doctor?" he asked. “A child from Bihar will now become not a Rangdaar, but an engineer, doctor, advocate, and judge in the court."
Modi Attacks RJD’s Record
PM Modi accused the RJD-Congress alliance of corruption and misrule. “Jungle rule means – gun, cruelty, bitterness, bad upbringing, and corruption. These are people filled with bad upbringing, who want the rule of misgovernance," he said.
He said the opposition ignored Bihar’s industries. “These RJD and Congress folks don’t even know the ABCD of industries," he said. “These people only know how to put locks on industries."
He added that Bihar saw no major factory in 15 years. “In 15 years, not a single big factory was set up in Bihar. Even the mills and factories that were there in Mithila itself have shut down," he said.
PM Modi also said healthcare and education declined under the RJD. “In 15 years of jungle raj, not a single big hospital or medical college was built in Bihar," he said. “Therefore, talks of development from the mouths of these jungle raj folks are nothing but pure white lies."
NDA Promises Development
PM Modi said the NDA government had restored people’s trust and brought progress. “Now investors are eager to come to Bihar. Good roads are being built here, and rail and air connectivity has improved. New electricity factories are being built, and the Riga Sugar Mill here has restarted," he said.
He promised more industrial growth. “In the coming times, the work of setting up such mills and factories in Bihar will move forward with greater strength," he said.
He also announced a direct rail service from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya. “Our government is promoting development here while also honoring our heritage. We are connecting this region to the Ramayana Circuit," he said.
Modi’s ‘65 Volt Ka Jhatka’ Jibe
PM Modi mocked the opposition after the first phase of voting. “In the first phase of the elections, the people of Bihar… the people of Jungle Raj got a ’65 volt jhatka’,” he said, drawing cheers from the crowd.
