Amit Shah Orders Manhunt for Red Fort Blast Conspirators
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed security agencies to track down every person involved in the deadly Red Fort car blast that killed 13 people in Delhi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held two high-level review meetings with senior security and intelligence officials following the car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, which killed 13 people and injured 20 others. The powerful blast, which occurred on Monday evening, also destroyed several nearby vehicles.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shah wrote, “Chaired review meetings on the Delhi car blast with the senior officials. Instructed them to hunt down each and every culprit behind this incident. Everyone involved in this act will face the full wrath of our agencies.”

Senior officials brief Shah on the situation

According to sources quoted by PTI, the first review meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Sadanand Vasant Date.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat also joined the discussion virtually. During the meeting, the top officials presented detailed updates on the situation after the explosion and shared the progress of preliminary investigations.

A second meeting, held later in the afternoon, was attended by almost the same group of senior officers.

NIA takes charge of the investigation

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially handed over the investigation to the National Investigation Agency, which is responsible for probing terror-related cases. Officials confirmed that the NIA will lead the inquiry to determine whether the blast was part of a larger conspiracy.

Shah said that India’s “top investigating agencies” are jointly working to uncover the full details behind the attack and identify every individual linked to it.

The blast that shook Delhi

The explosion occurred around 6:30 pm on Monday when a slow-moving car stopped at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station. The blast triggered a massive fire, killing 13 people and injuring at least 20 others, while several parked cars were gutted in the flames.

Security has since been tightened across Delhi, with teams from the NIA, Delhi Police’s Special Cell, and forensic experts examining CCTV footage and debris from the scene to trace how the explosives were planted and who executed the attack.

Next steps in the investigation

With the NIA now leading the probe, investigators are expected to coordinate with Delhi Police and intelligence agencies to track the car’s movement and verify any possible links to organized terror networks.

Officials have also begun checking for similar explosives patterns used in earlier attacks as they piece together the sequence of events leading to the Red Fort explosion.

Shah’s strong message and swift action underscore the government’s zero-tolerance stance toward terror-related violence in the national capital.
