Pakistan defeated the USA by 32 runs in the 12th match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. The USA invited Pakistan to bat first after winning the toss. Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan gave Pakistan a flying start and put together 54 runs for the first wicket in five overs. After the fall of two quick wickets in the sixth over, Farhan built another partnership with Babar Azam, who missed his half-century by four runs. Sahibzada Farhan played a superb knock of 73 runs off 41 balls. Shadab Khan’s short cameo of 30 runs off just 12 balls helped Pakistan reach the 190-run mark. Pakistan’s innings crumbled towards the end as they lost five wickets in the last nine balls. Shadley van Schalkwyk (4/25 in 4 overs) was the most successful bowler for the USA. Mohammad Mohsin, Saurabh Netravalkar, and Harmeet Singh also took one wicket each.
While chasing, Andries Gous and Shayan Jahangir gave the USA a flying start and added 42 runs for the first wicket in five overs. After that, the USA lost momentum. Although Milind Kumar and Shubham Ranjane tried hard in the middle overs, Shubham Ranjane hit a superb half-century in just 30 balls. The USA fell short by 32 runs in the end. Usman Tariq (3/27 in 4 overs) and Shadab Khan (2/26 in 4 overs) were the most impactful bowlers for Pakistan. With this win, Pakistan now have two wins out of two in the group.
