Former US President Barack Obama made a surprising comment on Saturday when he said he believes aliens are real. However, he also admitted that he does not know where they are.
Obama made this statement during a podcast interview hosted by YouTuber Brian Tyler Cowen. When asked about extraterrestrials, Obama responded, “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them.”
He did not explain what he meant by saying aliens are “real.” The interviewer also did not ask a follow-up question. As a result, his brief remark left many people wondering what exactly he was referring to.
Growing US Interest in UFOs
In recent years, interest in alien life has increased in the United States. This rise in curiosity followed the release of government documents that revealed several unexplained aircraft sightings.
Leaked radar footage recorded 13 years ago by US Air Force Reaper drones reportedly showed Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs). The government now uses this term instead of UFOs. The footage appeared to show strange flying objects over West Asia.
Pentagon Videos Added to Mystery
In 2021, the Pentagon made three Navy videos public. These unclassified clips showed unusual objects moving rapidly across the sky. US service members reacted with shock and amazement in the recordings. One of the objects even appeared to rotate while flying against the wind.
Notably, this was not the first time Obama spoke about aliens or UFOs.
Obama’s Earlier Comments
In a 2021 interview on “The Late Late Show” with host James Corden, Obama hinted at hidden information. He said, “When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air.”
During that conversation, he confirmed that the UAP sightings were real. He also said the government could not explain where the objects came from or how they were able to move in unusual ways.
“But what is true and I’m actually being serious here is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are,” he said at that time.
