‘War Will End on Trump’s Terms’: Hegseth Sets US Position on Iran
US officials say the coming days will be decisive in the Iran conflict, while Trump insists the war will end on his terms and urges allies to fend for themselves.

Tensions are rising in West Asia. Meanwhile, senior US officials say the coming days will be critical in the conflict with Iran. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine addressed a press conference on Tuesday. They said “the upcoming days will be decisive".

Hegseth clearly outlined the US position. He said, “War in West Asia will end only on Trump’s terms." He also stressed that the US strategy is to “be unpredictable".

US Avoids Sending Troops

At the same time, Hegseth said the United States does not plan to send troops into Iran. However, he added that even if such a step is taken, the government will not reveal it publicly.

US Ready to Extend Military Campaign

Meanwhile, Hegseth confirmed that the US is holding talks to end the conflict. He said discussions are “gaining strength." However, he warned that if talks fail, Washington is ready to continue Operation Epic Fury for another four to eight weeks.

He also stressed that the US remains committed to ending the war on “our and Trump’s terms."

Trump Warns Allies Over Oil Crisis

In addition, US President Donald Trump issued a strong message to countries facing fuel shortages due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on Truth Social, he criticised countries like the United Kingdom for not supporting US efforts.

“All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT," he wrote.

Trump Urges Self-Reliance

Furthermore, Trump warned that the US may not support its allies in the future. He said countries must take responsibility for their own security.

“You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us," he said.

Trump Claims Iran Has Been Hit Hard

Finally, Trump said Iran has suffered major damage. He said, “Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!"

His remarks show that tensions remain high, with no clear sign of de-escalation.
