Former Iran FM Kharazi Gravely Injured in Strike Amid Escalating Conflict
Former Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi was seriously injured in a strike on his home, even as reports suggest Iran’s regime remains stable despite ongoing attacks.

Kamal Kharazi, Iran’s former foreign minister, has been critically injured after his residence was targeted in a strike. According to reports from Iranian media, the attack was believed to be an assassination attempt.

The strike reportedly killed his wife, while Kharazi sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.

Experienced Diplomat and Government Advisor

Kharazi has been serving as a senior advisor to the Iranian government. He previously held the position of foreign minister from 1997 to 2005 during the presidency of Mohammad Khatami, who was known for his reformist policies.

Trump Claims Leadership Losses in Iran

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that American strikes have eliminated several top Iranian officials. On Thursday, he again claimed that the ongoing war has taken out key figures within Iran’s leadership.

US Intelligence Sees No Immediate Collapse

Despite these claims, a recent US intelligence report suggests that Iran’s government is not at risk of collapsing. The report indicates that the leadership continues to maintain control over the country and its population.

According to the findings, a “multitude” of intelligence reports offer “consistent analysis that the regime is not in danger” of collapse and that it “retains control of the Iranian public.”

Leadership Stability Despite Heavy Losses

The intelligence assessment highlights that Iran’s clerical leadership remains united, even after the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28, which marked the beginning of US and Israeli strikes.

Israeli officials have also indicated uncertainty about whether the war will lead to the fall of Iran’s ruling system.

Top Officials and IRGC Commanders Killed

The strikes carried out by the US and Israel have resulted in the deaths of Khamenei and several senior officials. Many high-ranking commanders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have also been killed.

However, the intelligence report notes that the IRGC and interim leadership have continued to hold control of the country even after these losses.

Trump Promises Continued Strikes

In his first nationwide address since the war began, Trump defended the decision to attack Iran. He claimed that the United States is nearing victory, even as his approval ratings have declined.

Speaking from the White House, he did not provide a clear plan for ending the war but warned that military action would continue.

“We are going to finish the job, and we’re going to finish it very fast. We’re getting very close,” he said, reiterating his stance from previous public statements and media appearances.
