Oscars Night Shocker: Justin Bieber, Usher Reportedly Argue at After-Party
After the 2026 Oscars after-party, Justin Bieber and Usher were reportedly involved in a tense verbal clash that drew attention from guests, though no official statements have been made

What started as a glamorous Oscars night may have ended on a tense note for two of pop’s biggest names. Justin Bieber and Usher were reportedly involved in a heated exchange at a high-profile after-party following the 98th Academy Awards.

The alleged incident took place on March 15 at an exclusive gathering hosted by Beyoncé and Jay-Z at Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. The event, known for its star-studded guest list, became the backdrop for what sources described as a tense moment between the longtime collaborators.

What Happened

According to reports citing eyewitness accounts, Usher approached Bieber with noticeable “energy and anger," which led to a confrontation between the two. Some attendees suggested the situation may have escalated further, though there has been no confirmation of any physical altercation, and no authorities were involved.

Representatives for both artists have not issued any official statements regarding the reported incident, leaving the circumstances unclear.

Reason Still Unclear

The development has drawn attention due to the duo’s long-standing professional and personal association. Usher was instrumental in launching Bieber’s career in 2008, working alongside manager Scooter Braun through Raymond Braun Media Group. Over the years, the two collaborated on tracks such as First Dance and Somebody to Love, with Usher often seen as a mentor figure.

However, reports of strain in their relationship have surfaced in recent years. Bieber’s decision to skip a guest appearance during Usher’s 2024 Super Bowl halftime show and his subsequent move to unfollow the singer on social media had already sparked speculation about a rift.

Situation Brought Under Control

The after-party itself featured several prominent attendees, including Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Coogler, Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, Jacob Elordi, Austin Butler, Megan Fox and Emma Watson. Reports also indicated that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were present.

In terms of recent work, Bieber had returned to the Grammy stage earlier this year for the first time since 2012, performing Yukon from his latest album SWAG. Meanwhile, Usher has continued his post-Super Bowl momentum with his concert film Rendezvous and the album Coming Home, which features collaborations with multiple international artists.
