Trump Warns Gulf Nations Over Israel Recognition In Iran Deal
US President Donald Trump warned that he could abandon the Iran peace deal unless Gulf Arab nations formally recognise Israel and join the Abraham Accords.

US President Donald Trump warned that he could abandon a proposed peace deal if Gulf Arab nations refuse to recognise Israel and join the Abraham Accords.

Speaking during a tense Cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump said countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates should support the United States by normalising ties with Israel. He suggested that any future deal involving Iran could depend on their decision.

“I’m not sure we should make the deal if they don’t,” Trump said when reporters asked whether the agreement depended on Arab nations joining the Abraham Accords.

“You want to know the truth? If they don’t sign to join the Abraham Accords, I don’t know… I think those countries owe that to us, to be honest,” he added.

Trump Connects Iran Deal With Abraham Accords

Earlier this week, Trump issued a strong message on Truth Social. He said several countries should “mandatory” join the Abraham Accords alongside any agreement with Iran.

He named Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan.

Trump’s latest position linked two major issues together — ending tensions with Iran and expanding diplomatic ties between Israel and Sunni Arab nations.

He argued that Gulf countries should support Washington because Iran directly threatened the region after the US launched military operations against Tehran.

“After all the work done by the United States to try and pull this very complex puzzle together… it should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit. If they don’t, they should not be part of this Deal,” Trump said.

The UAE and Bahrain already signed the Abraham Accords in 2020. However, Trump now wants countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar to officially join as well.

Saudi Arabia Sticks To Its Position

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly said it will not recognise Israel without a clear and irreversible path toward an independent Palestinian state. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has opposed those demands in the past.

Regional experts also warned that linking a ceasefire to the Abraham Accords could damage the peace process. They believe the strategy could increase tensions and trigger more conflict.

Trump Warns Of Military Action

Reporters also asked Trump whether he would restart military operations if negotiations failed.

“We’re not satisfied with [the talks] yet, but we will be,” Trump warned. “Either that, or we’ll have to just finish the job. I don’t think they have a choice.”

White House Rejects Iran Deal Reports

Meanwhile, reports about a possible Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) created confusion. Iranian state media claimed that both sides had reached a tentative agreement. The reports said the US would lift its naval blockade on Iranian ports in exchange for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

However, the White House denied the reports and called them “complete fabrication.”

US officials also said Washington would not ease pressure on Tehran unless Iran accepted major conditions, including giving up its entire enriched uranium stockpile.
