Donald Trump Estimates Iran Has 21-22% of Missile Stockpile Remaining
Donald Trump said Iran still retains about 21-22 percent of its missile arsenal as US-Iran peace talks remain stalled and regional tensions continue to escalate.

US President Donald Trump said Iran still possesses a significant portion of its missile stockpile despite months of conflict and military exchanges across the region.

Speaking to NBC News on Friday, Trump estimated that Tehran retains roughly 21 to 22 percent of its missile arsenal. "They still have capacity. They have some missiles, they have some drones. I would say, percentage wise, maybe 21, 22 percent of their missiles," Trump said. His latest estimate is higher than the 18 percent figure he provided in May.

Trump Maintains Pressure on Iran During Stalled Peace Talks

Trump's comments came as diplomatic efforts to end the conflict remain deadlocked. Weeks of negotiations, accompanied by repeated ceasefire violations and outbreaks of violence, have failed to produce a peace agreement.

Despite the lack of progress, Trump said Iran would eventually have to reach a deal. "They're strong, they're proud, there are things they never thought they'd be doing that they're going to have to do," he told NBC.

Iran Continues Military Activity Despite Ceasefire Violations

Iran has continued military operations across the region even as diplomatic efforts continue. According to reports, Tehran launched dozens of missiles during a week marked by repeated breaches of a fragile ceasefire. The ongoing exchanges have kept tensions high and complicated attempts to secure a lasting agreement.

Iran Claims It Fired Warning Missiles at US Destroyers

Iran's military said on Friday that it fired "warning missiles" toward two US destroyers operating in the Gulf of Oman. However, the US military quickly rejected the claim and denied that any such incident had taken place. The conflicting accounts highlighted the continued distrust between Washington and Tehran.

Kuwait Reports Interception of Ballistic Missiles

Earlier in the week, Kuwait announced that its air defence systems intercepted 30 ballistic missiles. Kuwaiti authorities described the launches as part of "heinous Iranian aggression." The incident added to growing concerns about regional security and the risk of further escalation.

No Breakthrough Yet in Iran-US Negotiations

Despite several rounds of talks, Iran and the United States remain divided on key issues. Negotiators have so far failed to secure an agreement that could end the conflict and ease regional tensions. As diplomatic efforts continue, both sides remain publicly firm in their positions, leaving the future of negotiations uncertain.
