US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States will continue launching military strikes against Iran until Tehran agrees to negotiate, as violence spread across West Asia with new attacks reported in Kuwait, the Strait of Hormuz and Gaza.
Speaking during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David on Friday, Trump said Washington would keep striking Iran “very hard” until it “can’t take it anymore.” He added that the United States wanted to gain the upper hand in the conflict and reach a meaningful agreement with Tehran.
US Vows to Increase Pressure on Iran
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt later accused Iran of breaking last month's truce memorandum. She alleged that Tehran attacked commercial vessels and was responsible for the deaths of American soldiers.
Leavitt said the United States would continue increasing pressure on Iran until it returned to the negotiating table. Meanwhile, the US State Department issued fresh security alerts for American citizens in Bahrain, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Officials warned that the worsening conflict could disrupt flights and lead to temporary airspace closures across the region.
Iranian Drone Attack Targets Kuwait
Kuwait's military said its air defence systems intercepted a fresh wave of Iranian drone attacks targeting several key facilities across the country.
Officials said one of the targets was a government building in northern Kuwait. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported. The latest attack has further raised concerns about the widening regional conflict.
New Incidents Reported in Strait of Hormuz
Fresh security incidents were also reported in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's busiest oil shipping routes. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Organisation said an unidentified projectile struck a tanker northeast of Lima, Oman, damaging its engine room.
In another incident on Saturday, a second tanker reported an explosion and a large splash near its route northwest of Khasab. The attacks came as Iran continued targeting vessels operating near the strategically important waterway during its confrontation with the United States.
Israeli Strikes Kill Civilians in Gaza
Israeli forces carried out heavy overnight airstrikes across Gaza, killing at least four people and injuring dozens more, according to local health officials.
The Israeli military said it struck Hamas positions across the territory and destroyed five storage facilities after issuing evacuation warnings. The attacks came one day after Hamas announced it was willing to disarm under a proposed US-backed agreement designed to end the war.
Ceasefire Hopes Face Uncertainty
Hamas's announcement raised hopes for progress towards a ceasefire, but uncertainty remains over whether the proposal will move forward. Israel has not officially responded to Hamas's offer.
However, far-right Israeli lawmaker Itamar Ben-Gvir criticised the proposed agreement and urged the government to continue military operations. Egypt welcomed Hamas's response to the phased peace initiative, while negotiations over Gaza's future and wider regional security continue.
Houthi and Hezbollah Tensions Add to Regional Crisis
Elsewhere in the region, Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed they forced eight Saudi ships to change course away from the Bab el-Mandeb Strait after announcing a blockade on Saudi shipping. In southern Lebanon, Israeli forces said they destroyed what they described as a Hezbollah tunnel network beneath the historic Beaufort Castle.
The operation drew criticism from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun ahead of planned talks between Israeli and Lebanese officials in Rome. The Israeli military also said one of its officers suffered moderate injuries during overnight fighting with Hezbollah militants in southern Lebanon.
Conflict Continues to Spread Across the Region
The latest developments highlight the growing instability across West Asia as military confrontations continue on multiple fronts. With the United States threatening more strikes against Iran, attacks expanding across key regional locations and ceasefire efforts still uncertain, tensions remain high and the risk of further escalation continues to increase.
