Aespa Confirms September Comeback with New Album and World Tour
Aespa is set to return in September with a new album and world tour, just months after releasing their single Dirty Work

South Korean girl group Aespa is officially set to return to the music scene with a brand-new album. This announcement arrives just weeks after the group released their latest single, Dirty Work, on June 27. The group, consisting of Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning, will release the new album in September, according to their agency, SM Entertainment.

New Album Details Revealed

As reported by Soompi, aespa’s comeback will happen only three months after they launched their second single album, Dirty Work. Well-known dancer and choreographer Leejung Lee, from The Black Label agency, will design the choreography for the album’s title track. Currently, Lee is also appearing on Mnet’s dance competition show World of Street Woman Fighter.

Following these reports, SM Entertainment issued a statement confirming, “Aespa is preparing an album with the goal of making a comeback in September.” Moreover, the agency shared that Aespa will begin filming their new music video next week. If everything goes as planned, this upcoming release will be aespa’s second full album after Armageddon, which was released in May 2024.

Aespa’s Rise in K-pop Industry

Since debuting in 2020 with their hit single Black Mamba, Aespa has been known for their futuristic themes and hyper-pop style. Their debut track broke records by receiving the highest number of views for a K-pop group’s debut music video in just 24 hours.

In 2021, Aespa released their first extended play titled Savage, featuring six songs, including the title track. After four years in the industry, the group released their first full-length album Armageddon on May 27, 2024. The album features ten songs, such as Supernova and its title track. Following the album’s release, aespa’s global popularity soared, and they won the Group of the Year title at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.

aespa’s Upcoming World Tour

In addition to releasing their new album, Aespa is preparing for their third world tour, SYNK: aeXIS LINE. This tour follows their second tour, Synk: Parallel Line, which ran from June 2024 to March this year.

Aespa will start the new tour with a concert at the KSPO Dome in Seoul on August 29. Afterward, they will perform 10 shows in Japan. The tour will conclude on November 27 in Osaka, Japan.
